The Team

Team Origins

The Athegus team originated from the SMART FOREST 5G Clinics research project at Deggendorf Institute of Technology. Funded by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV), the project ran from 2021 to 2024 with a total volume of 3.85 million euros. Its goal was to test digital technologies and 5G-based robotics in clinical real-world laboratories. As part of the project, use cases such as patient-centered orientation, transport, and telemedicine were implemented. From this work emerged the idea of a central software platform for controlling and integrating service robots – today's product hospOS.

Sebastian is the Chief Executive Officer of Athegus. He oversees finance, communications, and public relations, maintaining strong relationships with investors, funding institutions, and strategic partners. In addition, he leads sales and drives the strategic expansion of customer and partner networks. With a background in business informatics and extensive entrepreneurial experience, he combines technical expertise with strategic vision and strong business sense.

As Chief Technology Officer, Tobias is responsible for technical development at Athegus. His focus is on backend development as well as embedded development for robots and building technology. Additionally, he oversees the technical support for installations and ensures that all systems run stably, securely, and scalably. With his deep understanding of robotics and software architecture, he significantly shapes the technological future of the Athegus platform.

Stefan is the Chief Product Officer responsible for the development and design of Athegus products. He combines technical expertise with a strong focus on user-friendliness and design quality. His responsibilities include UI/UX design as well as the technical implementation of user interfaces for web applications and robots. Additionally, he is responsible for marketing, thus shaping the appearance and user experience of Athegus.
